Antioch Women's Ministry

The women of Antioch use their time, life experiences, and talents to encourage, share with, support, and mentor those who need it and to show those in our church family and community the love of Christ.

Wednesday Classes for Women

Ladies Summer Series Tuesdays @ 10:00 am

5:45 pm Class - DVD series, Beth Moore's Esther . We'll begin a new study on Jun 2, Beth Moore's Beloved Disciple. We will explore the life of the apostle John who must have thought that he had seen everything. Having been with Jesus all the years of His ministry, John witnessed more miracles than he could count, saw more displays of power than he could comprehend, and experienced more love than he could fathom. In his three letters, John leaves a legacy of divine love to ignite the passion of future believers and emphasize that relationship is the point. This is a video study; study books are available for $15 each. Room 32 7:00 pm class "Let's Talk Teens" is facilitated by Lee Farrar and is a forum for mothers dealing with teen issues in todays' society. Room 32 * 7:00 pm class "L.I.P.S." Ladies in Prayer & Study is led by Sue Thweatt . New topic begins December 2, 2009 - "Faith Lessons on the Promised Land - Crossroads of the World”.

Our Fall 2010 series starts August 17 and our study will begin in Exodus 12:37.
We meet on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 11:30 and offer free childcare from 10:00 - 2:00 for ladies attending class that day. Check the calendar for meeting dates.

2010 Ladies' Retreat

The Ladies’ Retreat was extraordinary!
What can be said about the Ladies’ Retreat? Well, not a lot specifically since “what is said at the retreat, stays at the retreat.” You see, Ladies’ Retreat is a safe place to share and be real, without the distractions and burdens of the daily grind.
The theme of Heart and Soul was embedded in every activity we did—not by our design, but by God’s. God had been preparing this weekend for us for a long time, and we praise Him for its success. The Interactive Devotionals centered on Revival, Sacrifice, and Honoring God, and Fellowship Meals provided the opportunity to get to know each other better. Surprise Touches from the Beatitudes and Session Speaker Brenda Williams, Cherisa Hutson’s mom, focused on the condition of our hearts. The weekend finale was Communion, which focused on our Great Mountain Mover instead of the mountains we encounter. The Spirit’s anointing of peace and unity covered us completely.
Because of the tremendous impact that this single weekend has, next year’s Ladies’ Retreat is already being planned. Make a note and a plan to attend next year! Our hope and prayer is that our hearts and souls are turned to God continually and that we touch others as Jesus did—with a Heart and Soul full of love. ~Sue Thweatt

“But God searches the HEART AND examines the SOUL. He gets to the heart of the human, to the root of things, and treats them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.” ~ from Jeremiah 17:10

These ladies use their talents to crochet and knit shawls that are meant to be a blessing to those who need comfort. The shawls are thoughtfully crafted while praying for the the person that shawl is to be given to. For more information, contact Sharon Hicks.
