We want all who visit Antioch to feel welcome and to find that this is a place where God is glorified, Jesus is lifted up, and the members truly love each other from the heart.
Most who have not attended services at our building before have questions and we have attempted to address some of the most common ones below. Take a few moments to look around on our website, and you will get a flavor for what Antioch church life is like. If you have additional questions that are not answered on this page, or elsewhere on the site, please call or email us.
If you have questions after you arrive, please ask someone and one of our members will be glad to assist you.
You may find some of the links to the right to be helpful, but feel free to browse the website.
1. What type of praise and worship do you have? A cappella singing (only voices, no instrumental accompaniment), with a combination of hymns and contemporary songs.
2. How often do you partake of communion.? We observe communion every Sunday morning and offer it again on Sunday evenings for those who were unable to attend the morning worship.
3. How do people dress? You will find that most people dress somewhat casually; however we welcome al types of attire that are considered modest. Some men wear suits; some wear jeans and Titans jerseys. Some ladies wear dresses, while others wear slacks or jeans.
4. Do you expect visitors to contribute to your offerings? While gifts from our visitors are always appreciated, we do not expect you to contribute. If you are a member of another congregation, we encourage you to give there.
5. When are your services held? We have two morning worship services on Sunday - 5:30 & 9000 AM with Bible Clases (Sunday School) for all ages at 10:20 AM. We have a special Children's service during the message portion of the 900 am Sunday morning worship that provides an alternative for people with children ages 2 years-2nd grade to have their children attend a special worship service "just for kids". If you prefer, you may have your children remain in the auditorium with you. We also have a "cry room" for parents who need a private area to attend to their children as well as a staffed nursery.
For changes to our current schedule of our services' times, please check the Calendar. On Wednesdays, we offer a ladies' class and an adult "power-hour" class at 5:45 pm, and classes for all ages at 7:00PM. For a detailed listing of classes and topics, visit the ADULT or CHILDREN'S education pages.
6. How do I become a member of the Antioch Church of Christ? Those desiring to place membership should speak with Jim Taylor. In addition, one of our shepherds, or another minister would be glad to assist you.
7. How many people attend Antioch? We usually have from 500-600 in attendance at our Sunday morning worship services.
8. Do you offer Spanish Translation or Bible Studies? Spanish translation is provided during the Sunday 900 am worship and a Spanish Bible Class is offered at 10:20 am. On Mondays and Wednesdays, we offer English Classes for those who wish to learn the English Language.
9. Do you allow guests to lease your facilities for weddings, etc.? Yes, under certain circumstances. Contact the church office for information concerning reservations of our Fellowship Hall, Pavilion, or Playground facilities.
10. I need directions! From Nashville, take I-24 east to the Antioch exit (just past the Haywood Lane exit) bear right onto Haywood Lane and turn right at the first light onto Antioch Pike. Go through the next light and the church will be on the left right after you pass the Food Lion shopping area.
